I live in the beautiful state of Oregon.
This last week we had a terrible senseless mass killing in Roseburg.
Roseburg is south of Salem, about 170 miles.
The first craft show I do every year is in Roseburg.
as I watched the announcer's on TV, one couldn't help but see the beautiful background . It's a beautiful country, tranquil and very friendly. Now it's suffering, we all are suffering.
It hit me very hard. I had a few rough days. Finally had to turn off the TV and try to leave it behind me.
I know we can't change everything but what can be done I will work toward making our country safer.
I won't talk about my actions on Spark, it's not the place.
We all have to stand up for our beliefs.
I had planned to blog the day the shooting happened.
Had gone to Value Village and got 18 leather, suede coats, jackets for $38.00.
All different colors, blues, turquoise, red, orange, brown, gray, black.
I recycle the leather for small bags, key chains, bracelets, different leather items.
Sometimes I find a jacket that I keep to ware. I love leather and suede.
After I turned on TV and saw the news, I couldn't blog or do anything.
Saturday I went to the produce stand and bought my weeks veggies.
A beautiful butternut squash. Fresh string beans. 4 just picked ears of corn. Red and green peppers. Honey Crisp and Johnna gold apples. 2 lbs of the best tomatoes. All these items are local grown. Also picked up 3 avocados', from California.
Here's a picture of the local produce.
Over the weekend, fresh corn on the cob, grilled with lime butter. Pot of string beans with new potatoes and Italian sausage. The apples were so tasty, need to go back and buy more.
I started a crock pot of Moroccan Chicken, a Jamie Oliver recipe, before leaving for park with Titan. Came home to the yummiest smelling house. This will be lunch with rice.
I had Greek kabobs, another Jamie Oliver recipe, for breakfast.
I don't believe in breakfast foods for my breakfast. I eat all foods , at all hours.
I have a craft show this weekend. It's an outdoor show, last for the year. I have other shows coming up, but all inside. Lucky the weather continues to be nice.
Plan to make more new pieces. Here's a couple of my latest creations.
Well it's after 12:00 if I'm going to get anything done time is fleeting. My most productive time is mornings till about 3:00, then it's all over.
I used to be a night person, but at some point in the last few years, I changed.
Up early, bed early. Is that old age.
I used to wonder how the older people ate dinner at the early bird specials, 4:30 to 5:30. Then to bed by 9:00.
My gosh I ate at 9:00 or 10:00 pm. Went out after till 2 or 3am. Slept about 4 hours, went to work and did it all over again. That had to be a different lifetime.
Hope the Fall has been good.
If you've been caught in the fire or flood area, please stay safe. Wish the best for all in disaster zones.
Spark on.
Peace and Love
