Beck Trek - Chapter 11 - When to Stop Losing and Start Maintaining
Friday, October 09, 2015
For 7 years I thought I knew my answer to this question. My "happy" weight has been 130, my "center" weight has been 135 and my "OMG, I'm in trouble" weight has been 140 (I'm 5'3" and a comfortable size 6).
Since my 60 pound weight loss in 2008 (from 200 pounds to 140), I've developed a philosophy of "living a life that I can live with." Meaning...I decided that I didn't want to live a life that was constantly under pressure about my weight. I wanted to be able to relax and enjoy and occasional food splurge, be okay with the scale going up temporarily, and not feel condemned.
My honest answer to the question, "What would you like to weigh?," would be 115 (smack dab in the middle of what the Ht/Wt charts recommend).
I've always thought weighing 123.4 would be kinda fun.
I've lost about 10 pounds since this Beck Trek reboot began (half of which was weight I had gained back). I'm at my lowest weight ever since I found sparkpeople and started this journey. My clothes feel wonderful, and some are even getting a bit baggy.
With the information in chapter 11, I'm going to keep doing what I am doing and figure out what is right for me, my lowest achievable weight vs. my lowest maintainable weight. Both my current food plan and my exercise plan are sustainable. I'm excited to see what happens!
