I'm officially done with the C25K program! Friday, I made my first attempt at a 5k run. I didn't quite pull it off. I did the distance, but had to walk a few times. Oh well, baby steps. I'm going to try again tonight, and Wednesday, and Friday. I'll will try three times a week until I get it. I'm close, my body can do this and I know it's all in my head. I need to work on a running mantra. Something to tell myself when I want to quit that keeps me going.
I'm going to keep running with the zombie app. I also discovered a running app in the Spotify app. It tracks your pace and plays music (from a huge selection of playlists) with the proper bpm to keep you running at that pace. You can also select a pace yourself. I'm going to use it to slow down my pace in hopes of being able to run a bit longer. Competitive runners have a pace of 180 or better. I'd love to be that good someday! 150 is more my speed right now.
On a positive note: I bought a new jacket for work Sunday. They didn't have an XXL available, so I tried on the XL. It actually fit! I'm officially down a size!
