My hair!!!

I have been shedding inordinate amounts of hair lately. After looking it up, I see that some hair loss in common when on a restricted calorie diet. I feel like I'm losing a lot, though, and it really bugs me. I'm not quite sure what to do about it. I've been trying to grow my hair out. Should I hold off on that and grow it out when I'm doing maintenance? I'm thinking of adding a hair and nail supplement to my daily vitamin to see if that helps some. The shedding needs to stop! I'm definitely worried about it. I might be a little vain about my hair, but seriously, along with my donk, it's one of my favorite things about myself.

Has anyone else noticed increased hair loss when losing weight? Any tips?

    So Inkblue basically said everything I was going to. :D I will say that I have some days where I get in the shower and wonder if I'm going to be bald by the time I get out, but I've had that going on for ages even before I started losing weight and I'm not bald yet. Just keep an eye on it and see what happens.

    There is someone I know really well, who also happens to be a barber. She told me that hair loss is related to nutrition and stress. However, it is not uncommon to lose 100 hairs on any given day. You can grow your hair out, but she also says that a regular trim stimulates hair growth as well, so you will have to let it grow out, but still allow for a little trim now and then. I would not take any over the counter formula for hair growth, because you do not want to increase overall hair growth. Rather, take advise from a trusted source on specific vitamins and minerals, which taken in the right amount facilitate the building blocks for healthy hair. A doctor's visit might rule out any underlying cause for concern and to keep worries at bay. On a personal note, I have experienced recent hair loss as well, which I have interpreted as a consequence of the stress a body goes through when many elements are unbalanced, given the many changes due to weight loss and nutritional readjustments in terms of calorie intake, digestion, and fatigue.
