For once I thought I would give something to those that have just joined SP. I also know that there are other who could give more or better advice. This is my view of my journey and others will be different.

Now I did not have a lot of weight to lose, only 50lbs but that was a mountain back in 2012 to me, the same as yours mountain is. I considered finding SP a godsend along with all the friends that I have made who have supported me.

Starting out leaves you confused and worried on how you will get on. First don't be afraid to ask question as the only daft question is the one you DON'T ask.

Set up your page so that you can be contacted and make sure you can be. Next diet is hard because even if you have done it before you may not have done it the SP way. Portion control is everything. This take time as well as understanding.

You will need to exercise but be careful here as too much and you will hurt yourself. If you can't walk a mile then walk half a mile and build up to it and two miles and so on.

Join a challenge that is right for you. There are plenty out there. Take a look in the drop down menu on the right hand side of the menu bar

Next Strength workouts can be boring and you will hate it, I do. I use a rowing machine which give ST as well as cardio (so I am told). 10 minutes on that and I am bored to tears.

Walking does quite a bit for you as I lost most of my 50lbs by walking in the end 30 to 50 miles a week. 42 miles this week and it is not even Saturday.

Stick to your diet, 10 minutes exercise a day to build up to what you want or have time to do, this will get you to you goal slowly but surely.

Remember to make it fun or you won't stick with it.
