I promised myself not to get hung up on numbers. Number of calories, pounds lost, ounces, body measurements, the number of days or weeks or months, etc.. The only numbers that really count are my blood glucose (99 this morning), A1c (bloodwork in Dec.), cholesterol levels (still on meds but perfect across the board for the first time ever), heartrate (no longer tachycardic due to hyperglycemia) and blood pressure (med dose recently cut in half!). Getting healthier is my goal.
Actually, I'm healthier now than I was on September 16, when I saw my new doc for the second time and she showed me the results of my bloodwork. A lot of really ugly numbers. So, yeah, with exercise and controlling my diet, I'm a lot healthier. Awesome. Yay me!
But I'm still on 2 cholesterol meds, 2 diabetes meds and that blood pressure med. I don't honestly know whether I can even get to a point where I don't need these meds at all. I'm going to try.
In the meantime, I've lost just over 10% of my body weight since Sept.18. I'm going for another 10%.
