I just found out today that a neighborhood friend passed away today--he was married to a classmate and I have known him all my life. He was 60--that isn't old--but he had gained a lot of weight--was at least 250 and he had a major heart attack. My friend is 58 and now alone. They had 2 children, I think--and several grands. His mother is still alive but doesn't know what is going on, I'm sure. His sister was a good friend in school--a little older than me--and older than her brother. She will have her hands full with her mother alone now.
My hubby is 59--almost the same age and he is also heavier than I'd like. He has gotten better about exercising but his dad had a heart attack in his 50s and died of one in his 70s. I don't want to be a widow (does anyone?) and I am trying to keep my hubby as healthy as I can--cooking the right stuff, in the right portions. He comes with me to exercise many times--but no where near the 250 minutes that he should have to lose weight.
Well--I am worried and I am sad. My friend was in 4-H with me, went to Sunday School with me--lots of memories. And I feel so sad for his wife and children--60 is too young....
