Whoa... time is marching on and quickly. Didn't get as much done today as I had hoped but I did get some "must do's" off the list. I was up at 5am this morning as when I woke up the dervish of thoughts started swirling. Tried to turn off the mini tornado but it was no go. So up I was and I enjoyed some coffee and quiet time. Put my grocery shopping list together for Christmas. Typically I cook Dinner on Christmas Eve however this year my daughter and family will be doing something else so I'm free until Christmas Day. Every year I do the same thing. I would be in big trouble if I changed it up... however I did make one change with permission this year. Usually, I make a potato casserole dish that everyone loves but it is a calorie bomb. My DD has a sensitive tummy and the dish is rich enough that it can cause her some distress... so no potato casserole. I'm switching to baked potatoes and everyone can top those as they wish.

Christmas Menu
Appetizers - Mini Carrots, Crackers/Cheese/Deviled Ham Dip
Carrot/Ginger Soup
Roasted Prime Rib (boy did I get sticker shock... I forget how spendy that can be!)
Baked Potatoes
Honey and Butter Rolls (Grands) and Crescent Rolls
Green Bean Casserole
Mixed Fruit
Individual Chocolate Lava Cakes

Went to the gym this morning for a 45 minute strength training class. There were only 4 of us today and we worked hard. Here is a picture of our little group all sweaty and happy.

I also had a 4 mile run on the schedule today. It was raining off and on but it slowed down before lunch so I gave it a go. It sprinkled a few times but I didn't get drenched and was rewarded with a rainbow.

After lunch, I headed out to run errands and do the grocery shopping. It was a zoo and very busy everywhere I went. On the way home, I stopped to see my DD and drop off /pick up a few items. I am borrowing a fringed dress my granddaughter used for dance class to wear to a New Years Eve masquerade party. Not sure if it will work but thought I needed to at least try it on soon so I know if I need to find something else. Stay tuned.. I'll let you know how that goes.

I recently finished watching Season 3 of Mr. Selfridge on my kindle. I usually watch something in bed on my kindle fire for 1/2 hour or so at night before I go to sleep. I have an Amazon Prime membership (similar to Netflix) that I have really enjoyed. So far I have watched all seasons of Downton Abbey, 24, The Tudors, Mr Selfridge, Heavy and now I'm working on The Royals. I have also watched a number of movies and documentaries. If you haven't watched "Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead".. that is one documentary I would recommend.

Thanks for stopping by Spark Friends!

I just love those Period shows!! Your menu sounds wonderful. We will be eating out in Galveston at a sea food restaurant. Waiting for the sun to rise here so I can do an easy slow trot on the beach. I pray the rainy drizzle stops for long enough that we an see the sights.
