Boy, did I ever sleep late this morning. I was up once during the night and my body had a lot of aches from the work-out yesterday... so maybe I just needed the extra time in bed for that reason. Had time for a quick coffee and breakfast before heading to the gym for a one hour spin class.

After class, I did a few errands and then reviewed the 2016 event calendar. I am going to keep my streak alive in 2016 and continue to do at least one half marathon every calendar month. Here is what I have registered for so far:
Jan - Disneyland Star Wars Rebel Challenge (10k one day and Half the next)
Feb - Disneyworld Princess Glass Slipper Challenge ( " " " " )
Mar - Tacoma St Paddys Day Half
Apr - Leather and Sole Run - Peoria, AZ
May - Ave of the Giants Half - Redwoods CA
June - Grizzly Challenge - Grand Tetons Half and Yellowstone Half
July - Oregon Summer Half - Banks Vernonia Trail (still need to register)
Aug - Girlfriends Sprint Triathon - Looking at several HM's still undecided
Sep - Lake Chelan Half (deferred from last year due to fire at Lake Chelan)
Oct - May try for Marine Corp Marathon - Washington DC and some other HM
Nov - Considering the Las Vegas Rock n Roll Half
Dec - Undecided

So, that is my schedule. The DH and I will be doing a lot of traveling... which we love. Several of the events we plan to take our camper and see some Country while we are at it... specifically the Redwoods in May and Grand Tetons/Yellowstone in June. The big question at this point is the Marine Corp Marathon in October. I have only done one full marathon (Portland) in 2013 and it took a lot of time for training. That is the big downside as I am a slow runner and the last few months before the marathon my weekly long training runs last 3, 4 .. even 5 hours. I'm not getting any younger however and if I want to do it sooner is better than later. You have to maintain a 14 min/mile pace for at least the first 20 miles in order to finish. (they raise a bridge so you get stuck and are disqualified!) I typically range 12-12:30 m/m and averaged 13 m/m on my last full, so I'm thinking I should be able to meet the time requirements.

It has been rainy and stormy today so wasn't able to get outside for a walk. I did do a 20 minute house walk while I was watching TV so I would at least hit 10,000 steps on the FitBit. I even had to cancel my hair appt in Portland because there was a severe weather warning on the mountain pass (snow, ice, wind). I don't need those problems, but I sure wanted a fresh cut/color before Christmas. Hopefully I will be able to get it done in time for the New Year's Eve party.

Had a friend drop by today with a birthday gift as well as some Christmas goodies. It was really sweet of her to bring a basket of fruit and it had the cutest ornament tied to the basket. Here is a picture.

I think I have figured out something about the wonky way photos post to the blog. If I take a photo with my phone vertically, then the photo posts sideways. If I take a photo holding my phone horizontally, then the photo posts correctly. I'll continue to take photos for the blog horizontally and see if this theory holds.

I just wrapped a whole bunch of gifts for a friend. I went to a resale boutique and bought vintage ornaments so I tied one on each package. It really looked cute!

That's great how you plan all you runs. The one with raising the bridge seems so unfair :)
