Ending 2015 - Starting 2016

Thursday, December 24, 2015

2015, Wow, this has been a blessed year. Busy, sometimes stressful, but truly blessed. I cannot complain. I have things better than I deserve that’s for sure.
*I have been subbing quite a lot. The secretary at the school I work at has me at the top of the list. The teachers want me because I know all of them and worked with them for 15 years until I retired. They trust me and know I’ll do what they want done.
*In late spring I had laser surgery on my left eye to take care of a problem I was having.
*My husband and I took a wonderful trip to Texas to see family. That was so fun. I even got to go to Port Aransas and spend a few days on the beach. We got to see so much family I can’t even begin to count them all. Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews. I even got to meet the woman (in her 70’s now) who was the flower girl in my parents wedding in 1946!
*Summer at home. Began going to a Messianic Jewish church along with a Baptist church we have attended for many years.
*Another anuresym in my left eye that has been taking care of again.
*Fall trip with my husband’s brother and wife to Arizona. 2 weeks of sight seeing and shopping. So much fun!
*Thanksgiving with my own children and grandchildren.
* Back to SparkPeople. Making new friends and beginning to lose weight again.

2016 Some things I want to do this coming year, Lord willing.
*Cut back on subbing. I have asked to be put on the bottom of the list for this next semester and not at all for next school year. That means I will be fully retired by end of May. Hooray!
*Begin learning how to quilt. I have already been invited to join a quilters club that meets once a week. I bought a few pieces of fat quarters to begin with.
*I have ordered the glazes needed to glaze my paper beads. They should be here after Christmas sometime. I want to try my hand at making jewelry.
* My son gave me a book on learning to knit for my birthday so I bought a skein of yarn a few days ago so I will be ready to start that after Christmas with a scarf to wear with my coat.
*A friend of mine has decided to teach a one day painting class around April. I have already signed up for that class.
*I am going to make a goal of losing to reach 165 before the end of June. That’s about 25 pounds in 6 months. Quite doable! Now to just get it done.
*I almost forgot I am taking a Hebrew class once a week at my church, too.
That’s enough. Hopefully not too much.
