Well, the craziness of Christmas is behind us! Yip! I saw a funny on Facebook this morning. "Only 364 days until Christmas". haha... sounds good to me. The house is basically back to normal after the family Dinner yesterday and dishes, crystal, sterling, pots and pans washed and put away. This morning, I did a couple of loads of laundry because unfortunately our cat got sick in our bed last night. She has a pretty sensitive tummy and I think she overdid it on Christmas also. My nephew caught her yesterday on one of the dining room chairs craning her neck and licking the butter on the table. What the heck?? I don't think that would sit well for any of us!
Usually on Sat I do my long 11 mile run. I decided to walk instead today and do my long run tomorrow... so hopefully the weather cooperates. Today was actually nice but cold. As I was walking my 4 mile route I noticed a lot of ice in the ditches. It had warmed up a bit and wasn't freezing but probably still in the high 30's, low 40's. I kept a brisk pace and didn't have any issues.
After lunch, the DH and I had some errands to run and I also wanted to visit my brother and my aunt to deliver some photos. I had a pile for each of them from when I did my sorting and figured today would be a good day to drop by. My brother lives in the area (about 6 miles away) but he is pretty reclusive. When we stopped, he was happy to see us and was pretty chatty. A couple of years ago he divorced and his ex-wife was there as well as his son (who is 23). I'm pretty sure they have moved back in.
My Auntie and Uncle were happy to see us also. Two of my cousins were there and some of their grown kids so it was nice to get to say hi. Several of the photos I'm having digitized is from when we were kids and my cousins are in a few.. so I promised to e-mail copies. We had a good visit.
Then off to do a little shopping and check the schedule to see if I'm working next week. Schedule wasn't ready but they were happy to have me work a couple days next week. The restaurant is a busier during Christmas break when kids are out of school and we see more family groups.
Did okay with my eating today. I'm thinking I should eat less crackers as they really seem to stall weight loss. I'm lucky to only be up 10 pounds and if I really wanted to be skinny I'd only need to lose 20. That sounds so doable so why is it so hard in reality?
