2015 Sucked-big time. My husband, 47, was diagnosed with stage 3 stomach/esophagus cancer. He underwent chemo and radiation (at the same time) and then the removal of his esophagus and 2/3 of his stomach. He has just had the most gruesome equivalent to the lap band, and as he continues to lose weight as I continue to gain what I'm calling "worry weight".
Now that his surgery is behind us we are both looking forward to learning to eat in a new way. He will be eating small meals through out the day and trying to get to 2500-3000 calorie range and working his way to walking a whole mile. I will be striving for the 1500 calorie range with 12,000 steps a day. We are both using Sparkpeople to help us reach our goals.
My message today is life is too short and too long not to live it to the fullest.
