Had to smile when I saw this on my Facebook feed this morning. There are days when I really consider taking out my earrings before stepping on the scale!

I am going to end the year with my weight about 6 pounds higher than I started. That was not the plan.. but I only have myself to blame. Vacations and Cruises were the primary culprits. It is tough to say no to food during special times. The thing I need to keep reminding myself is that there will ALWAYS be situations that call for restraint. I mean think about people that eat out or attend special events all the time. For instance, the Royal Family. None of them are heavy (okay maybe Camilla is packing a few extra) Just how do they do it? Obviously it is possible and I just need to find a way to deal with it.

Since my treadmill session worked out okay yesterday I decided to do it again today. I usually run 4 mi on Tuesdays, but since I'm working today and I want to take a class at the gym after breakfast, I deferred the run until tomorrow. I'll also defer my Thurs run to Friday. I did 30 min on the treadmill before breakfast and it was fine. After breakfast, I went to Body Blast (strength training) class at the gym. We did a circuit of 20 different exercises for 30 sec each and 10 sec rest between exercises. After completing one circuit, we rested for 2 minutes and then did the circuit again .. and then a third time. It was a great total body work-out.

After I got to work today, it was slow for the first hour ... and then all H*LL broke loose. We had a wait list for a couple of hours and unfortunately didn't have enough help. It made time fly but the downside was I didn't have time to eat lunch. I did manage to have a couple of baked chicken nuggets while it was slow but that was about it.

The good news - new year and new choices (really we can say that about every day though, right?)! May those six pounds be the first thing you lose in the new year!

And I, too, make sure everything is off before the I step on the scale. But then again, don't we all?

3 french fries? 7 chicken nuggets....I like the caprese appetizers myself emoticon Sounds like a busy day yesterday. Glad you survived and it's a new day. Haven't looked to see what my weight is from last year....probably a little up, but I've been mostly stable. My hardest change was this fall when I committed to playing bells on Tuesday night which is when I'd been doing 2 hours of aikido. That's a lot of exercise that needs to be replaced...I'm working on it.
Cheers to a great day full of good choices.
