As I said in my prior post, I let my gym membership expire to 24 Hour Fitness a while back because I moved to the other side of Phoenix, and there just isn't a convenient location near me anymore.
Last week I went out and bought a set of weights and a yoga mat. I borrowed the 21 Day Fix videos from a friend, pinned a TON of home workout routines, and made a plan every day to come home and work out. Well.... That has yet to happen. I should know better by now. I am just NOT a 'work out at home' kind of person. Never have been no matter how I've tried! There are just too many distractions and readily available excuses NOT to work out at home, and it down right ticks me off!
Take last night for example. I got home, was getting ready to change and do my workout when the BF said our friends would be there in 20 minutes for dinner. Then the neighbor came over, and yada-yada, long story short, no workout. On a side note, they all cooked Beer Brats, and I ate my salad instead :)
So in talking to our friend last night (who lives in my neighborhood), I found out she goes to LA Fitness (near our houses). I've never been to LA Fitness, but she says they have all the same classes I loved at 24Hour, and urged me to join so we can be workout partners. Now this I am all for! For me to work out I need accountability, and plans to meet someone at the gym is just that. Not to mention if I hit the gym on my way home I'm far less likely to make an excuse than if I'm home. SO... I'm going to go check out the LA Fitness on Friday (and probably join) because this girl needs to work out!
I've been on point with my eating for a week. I've been carrying my water bottle that has a counter dial on it so I can track how many I've had for the day. I've packed my lunch every day, I've turned down 3 people to go out to eat (or have Brats). Now I just need the other piece. I do already feel better.
I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and picked up some great finds! One of them being organic low cal/sodium Sriracha Roasted Garlic BBQ sauce (I have a dipping problem)....
My preparedness for the day (grilled chicken, steamed carrots, banana, and strawberry cereal bar:
And FYI the "this strawberry walks into a bar" cereal bar from Traders is AWESOME!
Tonight's plan consists of smoking Cornish Game Hens, mashed cauliflower "potatoes", and steamed broccoli. Hopefully a work out so I don't feel like all the equipment I bought is going to go to waste.
It's been a cold and rainy week here in Phoenix (something we certainly aren't used to) and I'm very un-motivated to do anything but bundle up and stay inside LOL.
Hope everyone is having a good day! I'm off to go research LA Fitness!
