Me and My Hamster Wheel

I just had an epiphany of sorts. I'm my version of a hamster in the proverbial hamster wheel. I'm in motion, yet not really getting anywhere with weight loss results.
Some of my efforts are inconsistent. I'm still eating too much and not burning off nearly the amount of calories I'm taking in. Hard to lose weight with more in than out.
Lack of consistent preparation has not helped my inconsistent efforts. I do my version of a pity party (food included) and wonder why the scale reads as it does. There are clear disconnects.
I like to think I'm doing better with bringing in fewer foods that are not good for me. (Potato chips, candy, cakes/pies/cookies, etc.) Yet, I manage to "find" something to eat when I want to just eat. In this mindset, I'm not usually gravitating toward the best food options.
It's a struggle. Although the scale is moving higher these days, I've not thrown in the towel. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was Syracuse. If there was a quick fix, we would all be thin.
I'll likely be on my hamster wheel a bit longer, while I work on the next game plan. . . then move to my hamster plastic bubble. LOL!!
