Whole 30, Days 7 - 12

Days 7- 8, nothing different to report. I was just ho-humming along.

Day 9: This was a Saturday, which is always a hard day for me with food. I'm out and about, wanting to grab food from my favorite places. So, it's no surprise to me that things started getting tough for me here. I also realized that I am tired of So. Much. Meat. I called my husband (out of town), and he talked me off the ledge. He reminded me that I had started W30 with the intent on not cutting out corn from my diet. Although corn is a grain and is not the best for me, I can get it in a cleaner state than most wheat/grain products and it has always been a staple for me (tortillas, meal, masa, even chips). He suggested that I add this back in - since it was my original intent - and this would be better than throwing in the whole towel. I could still clean out my system of things that were worse. I agreed and I promptly went to the store and bought popcorn (kernels to air pop).

Days 10-11: I was SO BLOATED. Like, uncomfortably so. I'm guessing this was from the popcorn, although the W30 book says to expect that you might be bloated around this time. By the way, statistics show that most people want to quit around Day 10, so my Day 9 waivering was not a surprise and I was happy to see it was gone by Day 10.

Day 12: The bloating was minimal. However, I was unable to eat most of the day, which was not good. That, I've found, is my biggest problem - I often find it's too much effort to find food that works, so I just avoid eating. I had beef and green beans for breakfast and an apple later in the day. Not good at all. For dinner, we went to a Mexican restaurant and I did eat tortilla chips. I ordered carne asada and stuck to the guacamole, onions, and meat.

I woke up today (day 13) and threw out the leftover chips. I had a come to Jesus talk with myself to remind myself that is not what I meant by bring "corn" back into my diet. :/

This weekend my sister will visit. When we lived in the same town, we would have "wine nights" each week and they were important to us. So, when we moved, she gave me a special bottle of wine for us to drink the next time we're together. I'll break W30 for that, but that's the only time this month I'll do it.
