Started the New Year off with a bang!

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

As the year ended I spent my New Years Eve at work and then spent the rest of the night at home. I woke up the next day to the worst cramping I've felt in a long time, I had just gotten off my monthly so I assumed I was having some extra cramping. Well, it didn't go away and it started to make me nauseated. Now, I'm think my god I haven't had an IBS flare this badly in a very long time. emoticon Sitting on the bathroom floor convinced if I just use the bathroom the pain will go away and I can go to my grandmothers for dinner. Bathroom time had came and went and all of the pain had subsided except for one area. My lower right part of my stomach. I couldn't lay on either side and stretching out made it worse and so did being in the fetal position. Something told me then this wasn't regular cramps and IBS. I remembered people talking about appendix pain starting out as feeling like really bad menstrual cramps. I texted my parents who were close by that I thought I needed to go to the hospital. After being poked and prodded, having blood drawn, and a CAT scan. The doctor came in and sat beside me, took a deep breath, told me he wasn't going to touch my stomach anymore and I have the beginning stages of acute appendicitis. emoticon I went to the ER at 3pm and had gone into surgery at 11:30 that evening. I was released the next day after being able to hold down food and not showing any issues besides regular pain associated with surgery. I've been home ever since! emoticon I had a follow up appointment yesterday and I should be able to return to work on the 25th with no restrictions. I'm pretty excited about that.

So other than that, I have successfully applied to graduate on May 7th of this year and I will have my BA in Psychology and I will be on the job hunt to gain experience! emoticon

Hope everyone's Holidays were fantastic! Can't wait to start back on my way and see everyone's posts and progress.
