Back Again

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

Wow! It's been a while.. A LOT of things have happened in the past four months and unfortunately that also includes all the weight I lost last year. I'm exactly where I started last Jan emoticon So feeling like a fat slob again but trying to make changes..

We are all moved and settled in San Antonio, TX

Started our new jobs as veterinarians at the same clinic as my man.. very STRESSFUL.. we are baby vets and trying to learn our way, very busy 24/7 clinic that accepts emergencies, surgeries, vaccines, anything, anytime! It is very high volume which we wanted but also extremely long hours and overwhelming at times. We unfortunately have very limited time off together emoticon like once a month.....

We got a new puppy right before Christmas - whoa! It's been a while since I've had a puppy and especially a CRAZY one like our Jada but she is learning fast and fitting in well with the others!

Here is a recent pic of our FOUR emoticon

My Dad was just here for a visit which was a ton of fun but also a lot of good beer and "bad" food

My Mom is coming at the end of the month which will be nice

Missing all my SP friends!! Exciting to be back on here and see most of you are doing well and keeping up with healthy habits!

My focus this week (great past 2 days) is increased water consumption, walking more, VEGGIES, logging consistently on myfitnesspal and staying within cals. Feeling like such a loser for working so hard Jan-Aug 2015 and then falling off and gaining all 15# back in 4 months! I hate that it is so hard to lose and so easy to gain!! Anyway, if you have negative comments please keep them to yourself! Trying to do this positively emoticon

Congrats on your job! That's great you guys are at the same clinic :)

I struggle with eating the right proportion of foods - getting enough veggies, fruits, etc. I tend to gravitate toward a paleo-type diet which makes my work days miserable. I'm using the 21-day-fix plan and it is making my life so much easier. I bought only the containers, not the whole work out regimen. It simplifies it for me so I have to eat 5 green containers (veggies), 4 red (protein), 4 yellow (carb), etc. It tells me how much oil I can have, limits what I can and can't eat, and so on. I am finding it far easier to follow than I expected.

    I'm also a veterinarian, so I know what you're going through, though I'm lucky that I don't have after-hours/on-call!

It happens! You're here now and that's what matters! Welcome back :)

Cute puppies! Sounds like some good has been happening for you but also very busy work. Will it calm down later on? I don't know how that kind of thing works, only that first starting a new job can be busy, chaotic, and very overwhelming for a while at least. Plus you are just starting out basically. Hopefully it will calm down either way and you guys can adjust to a better routine!

You've had a lot on your plate lately!

You are NOT a loser and you are NOT a fat slob!! You slipped out of your healthy habits so now you are going to slip back on track! Baby steps every day and you're golden!

    Love the furbabies!

emoticon I just want snuggle all the fur babies emoticon You'll get there again...just focus on one day at a time...get the healthy down and the weight will follow. emoticon If you don't mind I will share a little trick that helped me lose the 11 pounds that I gained from Halloween through Thanksgiving...I often got too busy to eat at work but I started packing raw almond and apple slices, it's portable and easy to grab here and there so I wasn't completely starving when it came time to eat and ended up overeating...

Don't stress too much about the gain, what's done is done. Focus on the future! You got it!

emoticon Ikr about it being sooooo easy to gain and soooo hard to lose. Regain can be tough but losing again is doable & you're already back on the path so emoticon Just keep up those daily actions and you'll be losing again in no time!! emoticon emoticon

And our fierce defender a whopping 5 pound pappillon/chichuaha mix. Wild times in our house but we love them and our vet loves seeing us come in the door. Be kind to yourself. Miving is stressful
