What I've asked of my body

Thursday, January 14, 2016

Indulge me for a moment while I oversimplify an incredibly complex issue.

As I was out on my lunchtime walk, I started to contemplate all that I have asked of my body over the years...

I have asked it to make due with too much sugar and not enough fiber. I have asked it to get by on too little sleep and too much caffeine. Other times, I've asked it to endure too MUCH sleep and too little exercise. I have asked it to endure hours of no fuel, followed by binges of too much. I have asked it to keep functioning, despite neglect.

I could go on and on...

Two years ago, I finally asked my body what I could do to help it live longer and stronger. The road has not been an easy one to travel, and my driving is has not always been stellar... but I have kept trying to stay the course, and my body thanks me for that. I glean far more motivation from feeling good, than from feeling bad. Thank you, body...stick with me, and we will get there...

Your words really put everything into perspective. This whole journey is about what we can do for our bodies and not just what our bodies can do for us. I really love this blog!
