I have been staying off the scale lately. Just concentrating on correct choices. I got on today and had lost 3 pounds! That felt nice to see. Hopefully my hips and back will start to notice too. I need to keep being conscience of how I am eating.
I feel like if I can just make it through January, the rest of the year will be much easier in a whole bunch of ways!
On my mind today: Bills, property taxes, taxes in general, middle son to ortho and moving back in the morning, oldest son, family vacation and 20th wedding anniversary ideas.
Any suggestions for 20th anniversary that is budget friendly. I know it is china...but we are not traditional really in things like that. I will probably make a joke and put a picture of the wrestler China in a card or something. He likes the jokes better than a gift. We tend to like to do experiences or time together more than gifts. We want to make this year more special and memorable...bump up what we would normally do. Maybe the same just different. More special than normal. That is for September but I would like to make any reservations ahead of time, maybe in the spring.
Family vacation. We are shooting for a family vacation including my hubby, me, 3 sons (23,20 &12) and our small dog. We have rented a cabin before and loved it. My middle one gets really bored doing that, and my youngest takes advantage of activities but can get bored with down time but he is wanting to do it again too. They allow pets. I am considering going to the same place but also kinda want to see if I can find anything that is a cabin for 5, pet friendly, would be nice to have a bathroom, frig, microwave and air. But we don't NEED all of that. I am just trying to accommodate everyone's preferences. We used to tent camp, but some of the family isn't into that anymore. Good reasons why too. With 5 people things can get expensive and a dog makes it difficult to go do anything. We don't want to board him unless it is at a trusted specific place we have used before but that place is 4 hours from us and isn't likely we will do that unless we are near by him within an hour. Again, trying to keep it budget friendly. Hubby really wants to cabin, oldest loves to camp, me- I am flexible, middle son is not a swimmer, not a camper, not a lover of bugs or roughing it, youngest is getting better about roughing it. Not that cabin are roughing it lol. Again trying to help everyone be comfortable...it is meeting in the middle from tent to hotel. So I have been looking for cottages, cabins, trailers, or something like that. And I find them but it seems that something doesn't fit in one way or another. We are looking to stay a week. Last time we picked this particular cabin, I believe we stayed 3-5 days. And hubby wanted to retire there. HE LOVED IT THERE. I am thinking we will go to the same place, I just was trying to see if there was something the same yet new. Middle son is a city boy like I am a city girl. But it isn't budget friendly to do all 5 of us in a hotel doing city things that cost money and parking on top of that too, and the dog would need to not go. Middle son has so much to learn and is so resistant to learning it or even hearing it. One day I pray he gets it.... understand that things add up. Quickly!!!
Stretching and yoga felt great today. I have fresh fruit and veggies that are tempting me today. Will be a good day.
