Welp, I did it..

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

... I signed up for my first race of 2016. It's a 4 miler on 06May. I walked it last year with a friend of mine whose back was bothering her. So I walked with her to keep her company.

Sunday I did jump rope for a bit... a whole 2 minutes! Um, yep... that was enough for me.

Have gone 19 days now with no sugar, over 10,000 steps a day (15,000+ today), and 2+ hours of exercise each day.

Was on the treadmill today, did 30 minutes, 1.5 miles, yep, that's a 20 minutes mile, or 3.0 mph. I'm hoping to either up my speed on extend my time... or both in a couple of weeks. The goal is to run/jog at least 3 of 4 miles.

Golly, I would think that a minute of jump rope was a lot! What a great commitment you've had to fitness this year! emoticon

emoticon on the jump roping! That is so challenging as you age.

You can improve your time and endurance progressively, but you are competing with yourself.

    emoticon Great job!!!

Two minutes of jump rope sounds pretty good to me. I know it doesn't sound like a lot of time, but it's pretty intense and as we get older, not as easy as it sounds (take it from one who knows).

Good commitment on the race! Also, I know exactly how "long" two minutes is jumping rope--a bigger deal than most realize! Way to go... emoticon
