New Challenge Goals...

This week starts my first challenge of this year... and of course, w/ a new challenge comes new goals...

This is my 3rd challenge in this format, and I've been successful through the first two, losing 12.1 lbs during the 1st challenge and b/t 7.9 and 13 lbs. during the 2nd one. (not sure of actual weight loss during 2nd one since the scale showed 7.9, but I had hardware placed in my body that weighs b/t 3-5 lbs)

I'm shooting for 15 lbs this time, and this is how I plan to achieve it:

1. Nutrition:
a. Log all food here on Sparkpeople daily
b. Stay w/in my calorie range as set by SP
c. Aim for a balanced diet (esp meeting protein needs, which I tend to be low on)
d. No "drive thru" visits to eliminate unhealthy fast foods

2. Fitness:
a. Meet (or exceed) my steps goal daily (since I've just recently been released to start walking for the first time since October, I've created a walking schedule that gradually increases my step count daily)
b. ST 3x/week to strengthen lower body following my hip surgery (currently attending P.T. 3x/week... once I return to work mid-challenge, got to gym after work 3x/week to do ST program created by trainer)
c. Complete daily "workout challenge" I am participating in w/ friends
- Jan: abs (crunches)
- Feb: arms (push-ups / tricep dips)
- Mar: legs (bridges / wall sits)
d. Once therapy is done, start incorporating cardio at least 2x/week by swimming laps at gym

3. Motivation / Accountability:
a. Interact w/ challenge teammates daily on chat thread
b. Blog weekly to summarize my progress (positives & negatives)
c. Weigh myself only once weekly for check-ins to prevent myself from obsessing about the number on the scale

This is my plan for success... I'll be back weekly to update my progress... and hopefully be reporting my goal is achieved 8 weeks from now!
