And all is good!

Monday, February 01, 2016

Well, a new month begins to-day----so----to-day is a new beginning!
Yesterday, son#3, the Policeman, rode out on his Police Ski Doo---He came up to the house from the lake. He said there is only 6 inches of ice on the lake----compared to 5-6 ft., this time of year---usually--
It's our mild winter----
We had rain all day yesterday---which of course , froze at night--
The mild weather has affected our ski hill---the ski do trails also, which are almost bare.
To-morrow is Feb 2nd---Ground Hog Day----

On the home front here, the sore toe is bandaged still--the rolling stomach flu seems to be over (after 6 days)-- Beau , the German 10 mo. old giant pup behaved himself yesterday even when son#4 came out with his wee little dog (why do all my kids bring their dogs out here?)
Himself is cooking his mammoth breakfast, and I hear the Dreadmill calling my name---
Lord love a Duck--a new day!

I read this earlier today & am just now getting back to leave my two-cents worth. We, too, have enjoyed a rather mild Winter season - that is until yesterday afternoon when snow began to fall. We have between eight & ten inches of the beautiful white stuff. Thankfully we had no where we had to be this day! Of course, we prayed for those who had to be out in it, although it did not look all that bad - just white! emoticon

We had four deer visitors this afternoon. Poor things trying to find something to eat under all the snow. They seemed to be able to do so, too.

Two of our extremely thoughtful neighbors came over & shoveled our driveway & the walk across the front of our property. We are so blessed with such caring & considerate neighbors/friends. One even brought up our mail, so we did not have to take that long trek to the mailbox. Now that is solicitous!

May we both enjoy much success in this new month of February!

    God bless you, Lynda!

WooHoo our winter is mild too. The people who snow mobile have to drive them up North and the ski slopes are having a short season.

I hope your foot is feeling better. It does take time or the nail to grow out. (((HUGS))) Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Cheerie as usual. Glad your toe is slowly improving. Hope everyone is safe when they get out on the lake. We have had a very mild winter here also. Glad Beau is behaving. I don't have a dreadmill, don't want one, tho I probably need one. Ground hog day, my sister's birthday. We will see what he brings. Lets have a great February.

Praying your toe heals soon! Glad you son #2 arrived safely!
Looks like the sons are checking on us old folks.
One of ours called last night because we did not show at Sunday evening service...He says we need to disinfect our home since this "bug" seems to go around, come around over and over from December 27th to now!!

Our kids always bring their dogs too. We always had a fenced yard so the dogs could run to their hearts' content. And our own dogs loved having company. Any time you don't want them around, please send them here. Have a great day.

    Lynda,

You sent me a very logical reason as to why Beau is not neutered...yet. (The vet is too hard to get to in the winter and you have an appointment for the spring.)

GOOD FOR YOU! (Both in your care for the dog and your concern to explain the situation.)

This is an issue near to my heart: people taking care to not allow "accidental" dogs, cats, rabbits or other animals to be carelessly spawned. The animal shelters (and too often streets too) are overflowing with too many sad, little, abandoned creatures.

We do what we can to help; but there are so many, so very many.

Hope your February is happy and bright.

Amazing the difference in the ice thickness. Hope no one goes through. Take it easy on the treadmill with your sore toe.

I am glad you are feeling better (in spite of the toe).

I am happy for the mild-er days and clear roads since I am doing more driving these days.

Other than the blizzard we had last weekend our winter is fairly mild here too. It is 48 degrees right now at 7:30 in the morning and by midweek it is going to be 65. Unheard of in February here. Hopefully by then our two feet of snow will be gone, gone, gone. It has already melted a lot but still quite a bit out there. At least the doggies can maneuver around their yard a lot better now and not confined to the small space my himself shoveled out for them.

Take care of that toe!! We nurses tend to treat ourselves but then don't we know exactly what we need? emoticon

Happy February!!! One more month closer to Spring!! emoticon
