Approaching 2 years...

2 years ago in March I started on my commitment to eat better and exercise regularly. When I started I was using Advocare. It gave me energy and I was not hungry so I lost weight quickly. I had to stop taking the Advocare because of terrible stomach pains. When I stopped my energy did too. So I was frustrated for a few weeks. However, I realize that I could eat better and exercise without taking Advocare. Was it more difficult? Yes. DO I STRUGGLE? Absolutely. But you know I am happy to say that the end of March is 2 years and I have maintained my regular exercise and have kept off 53lbs. I am not at my goal weight and I am hoping to be a lower weight by the end of March, but I am thrilled that I have kept up with the regular exercise. Truth be told regular exercise gives you more energy anyway. I guess my point is to be proud of where you are and what you have done. Don't dwell on what you want (which is hard). I have broken the family cycle of smoking, overeating and not exercising. I eat (better then I every have though not perfect), exercise about 4-5 hours a week, and feel amazing. I am trying to show my daughter the value of hard work, and that with God's strength you can do anything.
The hardest part of a weight loss journey is to start. As I said I struggle with eating every day. I understand that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. I am currently working on my group exercise instructor certification because I want to help people. More importantly because I need people to help me. I am inspired by people that are working towards a healthier version of themselves. That cake or pie tastes good but it is not as good as the feeling of accomplishment from a great exercise class or a loss on the scale.
You can do this!!!
