Florida - I went, I saw, I conquered

I went to Florida with DH to stay with some friends who are "snow birds". We had a wonderful time in their RV in Naples on the Gulf Coast. We had planned to stay 6 days and ended up staying 10 because of a Denver snow storm cancelling our return flight. Too bad, so sad...lol!
Before the trip I read the travel section in Both Beck pink and Beck blue ( Diet Solution and Diet Trap Solution) I worked thru and accomplished all the planning that was suggested. I brought snacks for the flight, went grocery shopping while there, explained my meal needs to my hostess and made a plan for all my meals. I ate oatmeal, walnuts, raisins, blueberries and cottage chesse for breakfast every day. Had meat and salad for lunch each day along with an apple for lunch and looked up our restaurants for dinner planning. I planned around 200 extra calories a day and had either wine or dessert for dinner each night. I only had one day when I went "off plan" and ate a bunch of junk as an off plan "snack" when I had let myself get too tired. I read my Beck Advantages and Strategies every day but didn't read them when I wanted to snack. I think I planned to fail that day! But I got right back on track right away and ended the trip well.
When we got home at 9pm, I had a bowl of chicken vegetable soup I had made and froze so I could have a "healthful third meal" for my travel day. I've been back 3 days now and am actually 1 pound lighter than the day I left. I weighed every day at the fitness center in the RV Resort and gained up to 4 pounds heavier than when I left. But its all gone now.
I have never felt so good about enjoying a vacation and not worrying about food as I did on this trip. I knew what I was going to eat and knew that some treats were included so I just enjoyed.
