Skiing in CO--and a BIG NSV!

Tuesday, February 09, 2016

I am so very proud of myself! BIG NSV--I can ski all day without getting too sore and tired!! I mean, we went out by 9:30 and I was still skiing at 3:30! Yes, I took about an hour for lunch but--I was FINE to go one or two runs more--but I know when you are tired, that is when you fall--so I didn't do another run. The legs are handling it--once in awhile, my quads ask for a short rest on the mountain But that is just a short rest--I stop, catch my breath and go again!

My 22 year old DD3 is in grad school, skis better than I do since she started earlier (I started in college when I met my now-hubby) but she doesn't get much exercise so I have LOTS more stamina. I am tickled to be skiing with her (and with my hubby of 36.5 years) but I have more stamina than either of them!

Now, I am having some altitude issues but drink LOTS of water and I am going to sleep by 9 most of the time--but I am still skiing all day!! WOW! I am pleased!!

I am not the least bit surprised about the stamina and very happy to hear that you're dealing well with the altitude this year.

WELL DONE. Always know your body. If it says to you it wants rest find a good place and rest.
You are amazing. I never knew about skis in my youth but we had a home made sled with runners and it was great.
First thing I tried at 21 was ski lessons and it terrified me. The slopes were ice and so I gave up. Stay healthy and happy!! emoticon
