Challenge Week #4 Recap...

Thursday, February 18, 2016

As I reach the halfway point of my current challenge, I found that the above image really resonated w/ me... so far I continue to have a good challenge (knock on wood - don't wanna jinx myself), but I have had my fair share of not-so-good ones in the past (I've been participating in these challenges for almost 2 yrs now) and right about now is where I typically start to have issues. So I felt that we all needed this little reminder...

As I said above, I'm still doing good w/ my challenge... lost another 2.4 lbs this week, making my total for the challenge so far -6.2 lbs. I'm over halfway to my goal for this challenge (11 lbs lost) so I feel I'm staying on track!

My nutrition continues to be on point... but I also continue to follow the Nutrisystem plan. I've got just a 3 more days doing that... then I'm gonna do what they call a "flex" plan, where I start switching one meal at a time to my own, as I "ease" off their foods. I'll do that for a couple more days, first doing my own dinner, then my own breakfast, and then everything on my own. Since I managed to follow their plan to the "t", my new challenge of "no fast food" was easily met.

Fitness has been just okay... physical therapy really kicked it up a notch or two as I reached the end of my treatments, so I scaled back my "off" days as I had been experiencing a little discomfort in my "good knee" and my therapist felt I was overdoing it. I've continued to get my steps in, but that's about it. So this week for my new challenge, I turned away from food and instead made it "strength training daily". Maybe that will help motivate me to do a little something each day, even if it's just 10-15 minutes.

The first half of this challenge has not been an issue at all for motivation... hopefully I can keep it going thru the second half!

One thing that will help me get moving as I go forward is that I finally got to return to work after being on medical leave for 132 days! My first night back was a busy one, but also exciting just to get back to my version of "normal"... LoL

Until next week...
