Tracking

Monday, February 22, 2016

So instead of going full on into this, I decided this week I will track. Track everything. I know what food I'm shoveling into my mouth but I'm not paying attention to the calories, carbs, etc. I want to be able to see what I'm doing, on paper. Er, computer. once the week is done, I will have the ability to go back through and see what needs to be changed, remove some items (even if it's removing part of the item for now), replace items, and add items where need be. It'll also give me the ability to see where my exercise activities are coming from and how much I'm doing. I also think it's a good time to find my Spark Book. I think if I can stick to this long enough, I'll fall back in love with exercising and eating well.

It is definitely one of those situations where I make "wise" decisions but I forgot about all the "poor" decisions I made earlier in the day. I can have a large healthy salad for lunch but forget I had a pepsi with lunch, snack, and dinner, and the large mocha for breakfast. Once I stop and really think about what I've eaten for the day, yeah, that's a lot of mindless eating. But in the moment, doesn't seem as bad.

A great place to start. I know every diet I started I did well as long as I followed the diet. No, what happened is I paid attention to what I was doing. All diets work for awhile, because we are paying attention.
You are doing this right. Great place to start, wise decision.

About how many times I needlessly eat. I always thought I was making wise decisions...and I was but the number of calories was incredible.
