I continue the good fight and am so pleased that I am, again, after a VERY stagnant period taking the weight off. Whew! I feel so much better now that my clothes are fitting better and I'm making progress with the scale. It's been a while.
I was thinking the other day....what am I doing differently? Well, I decided to shake things up and turned to Weight Watchers and it's message (be careful of sugar and processed foods - oh, and remember to move) is right on track for my issues. I was surprised that I liked the point system. And I've embraced it all.
My food intake needed adjusting and after some amazing blunders (a big Italian meal was tough to make work in the 30 points a day food plan) I am figuring out some tricks of the trade. One of the biggest was "easy meals" that come in on the WW plan with very few points. How nice is THAT at the end of day when you don't have many points left in the tank?
Here's one a friend shared with me. She calls it the Magic Chinese Meal. Brown a pound of ground turkey, chop up any veggies you like (celery, brussel sprouts, mushrooms, spinach, red bell pepper etc), throw that into the pan with the browned turkey and add a small bag of cole or broccoli slaw. Saute briefly. Season it with lite soy sauce to taste. 4 servings that come in at 3 points a person, voila! Turns out I love this stuff for either lunch or dinner.
And having this "go to" meal has come in handy many times over the last few weeks. Yes, for me it's a magic meal! If it sounds interesting, try it and let me know what you think!
