Sometimes you just have to keep moving...

Tuesday, February 23, 2016

On January 30th I was bending at the waist slightly and I felt every muscle in my back seize up. I started taking muscle relaxers, put heating pads on my back and over a few days my back got better but the pain shifted into my hip. I started having burning pain down my thigh, and it eventually went down into my knee. It was excruciating. I went to the doctor and he said I have a herniated bulging disc in my back hitting a nerve. I could do exercises to strengthen my back and core and pull the disc off the nerve. That is what prompted my decision to change my lifestyle. Because of this, I cannot not exercise strenuously, but I can walk. I can't walk fast, but I can walk. I definitely won't win any races, but I can walk, and isn't that what's important?

I was told to use ice. I could only use it for 20 minutes in an hour. It helped so much. I had 2 herniad disk pinching the sciatic nerve. You can get it back but it's a slow process. Core exercises. You got this.
