February 25, 2016 MY HOW WE HAVE GROWN
Many times when we are struggling and wondering why we have to suffer through tough times, God is working on us. We may not see it when we are eyes are blurred with tears because we are feeling sorry for ourselves. We may not realize is when our minds are clouded with thoughts of “why me” and “how could this have happened.” But the day will come when we realize the work God was doing in us because of that sour relationship or those mismanaged finances. And on that day, we will see God was working on us in the midst of the storm to make us stronger, to build our faith and to give Him glory. He was allowing us to grow, to realize His power and love, and to give us a story to tell to help others.
1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, thank You for the struggles in life. You remind us with Your word we are to be joyful in all things. That includes the hard times. That includes the doubtful times. That includes the troubled times. Thank You for the lessons You teach us and help us to see clearly what message You are conveying to us. We know You want us to use our lessons to help others and to glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we go through the storms of life, we eventually wake up with peace realizing God helped us through it all.
It’s time we grow up and put our trust in God in all things rather than complaining and feeling sorry for ourselves.
God delights in the fact we recognize His works when we are going through hard times.
The things we pray for are sometimes answered during our struggles in life.
If we are constantly worrying and upset about things in life, we may need to examine our relationship with God.
1 Corinthians 15:34 “Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.” (NLT)
Focus: God has a way of teaching us and answering prayers when we are in the midst of struggles.
