February 26, 2016 A CLEAR CONSCIENCE
There is a point in life for those without a conscience where they have crossed the line from doing good to doing wrong. They may have begun slowly doing wrong and continued on believing they would not get caught. They may have made excuses why they have done wrong and feel their reasons are justified. Their judgment and decisions are clouded by what they want rather than what God wants. When we allow our consciences to become clouded with the things of the world, we will find we are quickly moving away from God and forgotten our responsibility to Him. Our faith in Him has weakened and we have lost our way.
1 Timothy 1:19 “Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we want to cling to our faith in You. We want to keep our consciences clear in all we do. We want to live honorably and stay focused on You always. We know with a clear conscience we can better serve You. We know with a clear conscience we can better set a godly example to others. We know with a clear conscience we can draw closer to You, gain greater understanding of Your word and allow Your Holy Spirit to dwell in us. Help us today to be focused on what is right and good and to do only Your will. Show us how to live with a clear conscience. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
To be responsible and live for Christ, our conscience must be cleared of anything that is holding us back from following Him.
To clear our conscience and do what is right, we need God in our lives every day.
Without God our thinking can be muddled by the things of the world and our conscience can become clouded with wrong judgment.
We can stay focused on what is right to do and have a clear conscience when we stay in God’s word.
With a clear conscience we can live honorably for God in all we do.
Hebrews 13:18 “Pray for us, for our conscience is clear and we want to live honorably in everything we do.” (NLT)
Focus: Practice clearing out our conscience daily by staying in God’s word and drawing close to Him.
