February 28, 2016 DWELLING

If we want to truly serve one another, we need to allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. Dwelling means to abide in, live in, take up residence. It is much easier to do what is right and be responsible when we allow Christ to dwell in us just as He allowed the fullness of the Godhead to dwell bodily in Him. If we want to hear God's voice, we need to have a right spirit - one that is open and ready to receive Him. If we want to hear God speak, we need to worship Him. If we want to hear God talk to us, we need to allow Him to dwell in us.

John 14:26 "But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative - that is, the Holy Spirit - he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you." (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for the Holy Spirit which You have allowed to dwell in those who believe in You. Thank You that the Holy Spirit will move us according to Your will. Thank You that the Holy Spirit will teach us what we need to know. Thank You that the Holy Spirit will remind us of what is good and what is wrong. We know Your Spirit will help us to know what wonderful things You have freely given to us. Help us to be open and willing to allow Your Holy Spirit to work through us today. In Jesus' name. Amen.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to work through us, we can know what God wants us to do.

God wants His Holy Spirit to dwell in us so we will make responsible decisions about our obedience to Him.

Romans 8:14 "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." (NLT)

To allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in us our focus must be on God and living in obedience to His word.

Allowing God's Holy Spirit into our lives will help us know what great things God has in store for us.

1 Corinthians 2:12 "And we have received God's Spirit (not the world's spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us." (NLT)

Focus: Without God we are nothing. John 15:5b "For apart from me you can do nothing." (NLT)
