March 5, 2016 UNDERSTAND SUFFERING
Many of us feel as we are suffering but don’t really understand the reason why. When we are suffering, we need to look at what actions took place before we began having issues. If it was something we caused based on our poor decisions, we need to ask God to forgive us and help us. Then we need to trust Him to handle things and continue to live without worry and fear about the outcome. If we feel we did nothing to deserve our suffering, we need to remember God has His reasons and it will be so we can make a difference.
Isaiah 55:8-9 “‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the LORD. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.’” (NLT)
Dear Lord, sometimes we don’t understand the reason for our suffering. We know Your plans and thoughts are not always for us to know and understand. Help us to just continue to put our faith in You knowing You have our best interest at heart when we are suffering. We know Your reasons for our suffering are always just if what are doing is right. Help us seek Your truths and Your word to give us comfort when we are suffering. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We can always trust in God even we aren’t sure why we are having to suffer through life.
God’s thoughts and ways are higher than our own. That is why we need to simply trust in Him.
When we are suffering and don’t know why, God’s word is a good place to go for comfort.
When we trust in God during our suffering, we will find peace and comfort.
We may not always understand why we have to suffer but we can continue to trust in God in the midst of our suffering.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (NLT)
Focus: When we suffer, we should go to God. He knows the purpose of our suffering and can help.
