Today was a 1 out of 10 day

I've never been one to hop out of bed refreshed and ready to take on the day. My biggest success since starting on spark people came from joining the Fibromyalgia and Exercise team and joining the Team goal to do gentle stretching 10 minutes a day. That team goal quickly morphed to a commitment to myself to do a minimum of 20 minutes of stretching each day. 9 times out of 10, I am feeling better and motivated to move on to my daily walks and other goals for the day.

Today was not one of those days, I pushed through one walk, and some grocery shopping, and that was it for the day. It's a good lesson not only in patience, but a reminder that if I am meeting my goals every day, then I'm not challenging myself enough.

    You are doing AMAZING !! I also have fibro and there are "THOSE" days that the pain is like "WHAT??? Get UP??? I gotta use the WHAT??? Oh yeah well than I DO need to get up but than I wanna go BACK to bed !" thinking. Sometimes one just doesn't feel well enough to do "The usual". On those days,,,, I follow Jen Hillman on youtube. She does very gentle yoga,,, they can be done sitting down. She has a few different ones that can be done sitting down. You can target the neck, upper shoulders,,, or the hips and other area's. I can bring my pain from a 8 down to at least a 2,,, at times even down to 0 !!! WOW !! I LOVE IT !!! I have a few friends who SWORE it'd NEVER help "ME, I am WAY to sick,,,, you do NOT understand MY pain",, but yet,, I got one to do as her PT was saying,, well he mostly did when he told her "If you DO NOT do the exercisesk we do NOT you coming here. You won't get better,,, " so yeah she started to do as he told her (I about FAINTED into DEATH when she told me,,, she has over the years,, I've known since we were tweens,,, NEVER did ANY type of exercise,, as a kid she did a few things,,but that was it ! Now she IS doing what he's given her,,, and when we are together if I Am up to it,,, we'll go to a spot where I can easily use my knee walker,, and we will go for a short walk. FUN !!

    She's now doing Jen Hillmans video's,,, n she AGREES they DO help. She's told a few other friends,,, and I think,,,one or more is also doing this. She doesn't have many close friends,, I HOPE as she loses the weight,,, she can be more social ,,,,,,

    Some days I do less and then I feel refreshed and able to do even more the next day. Do you notice that as well? It's finding the fine line between 'don't feel like exercising' and my body is telling me to take a rest. emoticon
