The DH surprised me with a trip to Yosemite today. It ended my walk the dog streak, but we did a great little hike.
Since my personal best so far has been 3.4 miles on a flat surface, we decided to walk to the lower Yosemite falls from the parking lot,

My "small changes" challenge for the day was to work my glutes. Decided to take advantage of this little hill. While the trail had some elevation variations, this part was a pretty steep challenge. It led to this flat rock, and a pretty secluded view of half dome. Definitely need to go back for a sunset viewing,
Tomorrow starts the 5% Challenge, I'm nervous for the weigh in. Since last week I have been dropping pounds rapidly. When I stepped on the scale Friday morning I was down 6.4 lbs in 6 days! Because of the yoyo dieting my whole life, my body will tend to hold on to weight, and then it will shed it rapidly. So, after today's exertions we stopped at El Cid on the way home, and I decided to splurge a little. Got my favorite, chile rellano, a chicken taco, and didn't worry about eating some chips and salsa while we waited. Everything was delicious, and hopefully will bring some balance to whatever craziness my metabolism went through this week. It will be interesting to see what my official weigh in for tomorrow ends up being, I've been on the low end of my calorie range the first part of the week, but after I started feeling weird in the middle of the week so I beefed up my diet (literally, I rarely eat beef, but had some Wednesday and Thursday). It will be interesting to see where my weight lands tomorrow morning.
