Abbreviated Easter Weekend
Monday, March 28, 2016
Daughter and family arrived Saturday evening just in time for dinner, of course. (It was planned that way, don't mean to be sarcastic.) So we had a nice dinner (prime rib for them, vegetarian crab-less cakes for me) and afterwards gathered in the living room to watch the Villanova basketball game--exciting game, close finish, but 'Nova won. We were rooting for them because Courtney's boyfriend is a senior at Villanova. So it was fun to watch.
The next day was another family dinner --Easter ham for them, side dishes for me--that ended with a lot of good conversation around the table.
I enjoy these visits but they are pretty exhausting, plus I worry about M's behavior. Never know how he, an Alzheimer's victim, is going to react to visitors, especially male ones. This time he was pretty good except for later Sunday when he seemed to be angry at everyone. He settled down when I gave him breakfast food--he sometimes gets confused about the time of day. It's sad.
Story of my life these days, coping and trying to understand.
