April 14, 2016 HEALTH ISSUES

Many of us didn't realize, in the past, what we did as young people would hurt us later on. However, we learned the things we ate, drank and smoked would cause wear and tear on our bodies. The results of our bad health may have been discipline from God or just consequences of our choices. Either way, when we have health issues - especially severe health issues - it catches our attention. When our health takes a turn for the worse due to our poor choices, we have an opportunity to make a change for the better.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." (NLT)

Dear Lord, remind us daily the things we put in our body should only be holy and acceptable to You. Our bodies are gifts from You and we should treat them as You have taught us to. You tell us to honor You with our bodies. Help us to follow Your instruction and direction. We want to give you the glory for all You do in helping us take care of these precious bodies You gave us to live in. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Our bodies are gifts from God and we are called to treat them in ways that honor Him and give Him glory.

How we treat our bodies shows others how much we are living in obedience to God.

We need to give God the glory in all things - even what we put in our bodies.

Getting into God's word and building a relationship with Him will help us know better how to treat our bodies.

Whatever we put in our bodies should be pleasing to God.

1 Corinthians 10:31 "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." (NLT)

Focus: Our bodies are temples God has allowed us to live in while we are here on earth. Let's take care of them.
