April 29, 2016 ROCK BOTTOM

We may have all experienced a time when we had done wrong for so long that we hit rock bottom. Those times are when we may have felt we had nowhere else to turn. We were broken. We were humbled. We realized we had done too much of our own thing and not enough of God's will. When we hit rock bottom, God is there to take us back in. We should understand there will be consequences for our sin but know God can help us deal with them when we turn back to Him.

Lamentations 3:39-40 "Then why should we, mere humans, complain when we are punished for our sins? Instead, let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the LORD." (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know there are consequences for our actions. We realize many times we just continue down the wrong path because it is hard to turn back. We sometimes continue to do wrong because we aren't sure how to stop. We continue on until we hit rock bottom. When there is nowhere else to look but up. We are so grateful You are willing to take us back in and get us back on the right path. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

When we fall into a pit and hit rock bottom due to our own choices, we can look up to God to show us the way out.

When we seek forgiveness for wrongdoing and turn from our wrong actions, God will forgive and restore us.

We are so blessed God is willing and able to help us when we have hit rock bottom from living in sin.

When we think there is no way out and are going through hard times, we need to remember to look to and trust in God for help.

God is able to pick us up when we have fallen into the pit of despair.

Psalm 40:2 "He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along." (NLT)

Focus: No matter how deep the pit we have dug for ourselves, God is willing and able to get us out.
