Blood Pressure woes

Monday, May 02, 2016

To medicate or not to medicate? My blood pressure has always run a bit high as a baseline, by my last few doc visits it has been worse. Despite my young(ish) age, normal weight, healthy diet and decent fitness level, I have been diagnosed pre-hypertensive/bordering on full-blown hypertension. The doc didn't really know what to recommend, since I seem too young and healthy to need BP medication. So, for now I'm monitoring my blood pressure daily and keeping a log. It seems like if I don't need to fix the "normal" problems (diet, exercise, weight), then medication might be my only option.

I'm sure you know this, but... In this area you really should just follow what a doctor says, if you are concerned maybe check with a second doctor.
