May 12, 2016 GODLY PATIENCE

We have probably lost patience with someone in our lifetime. It may have been a friend or co-worker. It may have been a family member. Whoever it was, it wasn't their fault we lost our patience. We allowed ourselves to get out of control and not follow God's direction on being patient. When we follow God's example of patience, we will learn to be patient with the important things as He is. We are so blessed His patience allows times for people to be saved.

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent." (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for Your patience. Thank You for being patient for the sake of those who have not yet repented to You. We know we can learn a lot from Your patience. You see how the world is and we know it saddens You, yet you continue to wait for more people to come to know You and be saved. Thank You, Lord. Help us to learn from Your patience and be patient with others as well. Your timing is perfect and we pray You will help us to be more patient as You call us to do. In Jesus' name. Amen.

We can be patient with others and let others see Jesus in us.

Taking time to be patient with those who are living against God's will show them we care.

When we are patient with others we are living as God called us to live.

When others are patient for our sake, they are living in obedience to God.

We should remember God's patience is for our sake so that more people can be saved.

2 Peter 3:15 "And remember, our Lord's patience gives people time to be saved." (NLT)

Focus: We are so blessed God is patiently waiting for more to come to know Him.

Yes, God's timing is perfect, but ours is often not. We run ahead of God or lag behind. This confuses some and frustrates others. How difficult we make it for the Holy Spirit to work with souls when we are not continually aware of His guidance.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it (Isaiah 31:20a).

I lose my patience almost every day with my little ones they just seem to pick at each other every day. Also don't forget to be patient with yourself while on your healthy lifestyle journey which the author doesn't seem to address
