May 13, 2016 WE WANT IT NOW

Due to technology, many of us have developed impatience. We want things now. When someone doesn't reply right away with an answer in a text message, we may get anxious. When we don't get an email response in a day or two, we may get angry with a company. This instant world is hurting us all and teaching us we can have what we want now. However, we need to get back to God's word. He tells us to wait. He tells us to trust in Him. He tells us we will find new strength and not grow weary when we wait on Him. Forget this ever changing, instantaneous world we live in. Focus on God for all we need.

Isaiah 40:31 "But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for Your word which reminds us to trust in You and wait on Your timing. Thank You for Your reminders that we can draw strength from You and not grow weary. Thank You for helping us to walk and stay strong because without You we will grow faint. We know You are able to work through us when we can no longer do anything on our own. Thank You for the reminder to wait on You, to be patient and to never give up on You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Rather than waiting on the next new thing in this world, we need to focus on God's word and wait to be renewed by Him.

God wants us to come to Him for all things and stop focusing on the things of the world.

When we get anxious because of this instantaneous world, we need to refocus on God and be still in His presence.

Satan wants us to be anxious and be focused on how quick we can get all we want. His plans are to distract us from God's word.

Although we get weary and tired and anxious, God can renew our spirits every day.

2 Corinthians 4:16 "That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day." (NLT)

Focus: We never have to give up when we put our trust in God.

Health related: Taking our focus off electronics will help us to get up and get moving to stay healthy!
