Yesterday went well. Well, my middle son started fighting with me in the afternoon (he's 20) about me asking him to clean up after himself. Hopefully he will see today like I do and can start fresh.
This past week my husband was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. He has had numbers in that zone for the past 3 years. He needs to get rechecked in 6 months. He is good with the exercise but eating less and better will be a challenge with him. He doesn't have an off button and loves the things bad for you. But he is willing to do what he needs to do to help himself. Last night I made a cabbage casserole I found on SP and he swore it was a potatoe casserole. SCORE for me! I showed him a trick to help his jitters, headaches and hunger pains between meals if he has had his allowed foods for the day. A bullion cube and some fat in hot water like a broth. This helps because your body is wanting salt and the fat helps keep you feeling full. Works fast and like a charm. We use coconut oil.
My blood sugar numbers are doing amazing. I am extremely proud of myself.
I am where I set out to be. I can tell my body is changing too. Last night I decided we would weigh ourself before leaving for vacation. Just to bench mark. I couldn't be happier to be at the numbers I set out to get to. I didn't think it was possible. I can stop raising my units in insulin too. I am excited, happy, motivated, and empowered to be able to get to this place. I am going to keep tracking my numbers up until Friday, then I will take a week off. I have stopped tracking my food over the past couple days and am still doing well at what I eat. I have been forgetting to keep track of the time of my last bsl log for the day and I need to pay more attention to that. So far I have been able to figure out what time to check. for all the friendship and support!
