Starting the summer lose 5% challenge and am excited but also nervous. I have a habit of starting big but then fizzling out. I am hoping being part of a community will be the key. Looking forward to learning more about SP and lifestyle tips. Go Team Dawgs!

You will do great! You are on an awesome team. As Diane said, don't over do, do what you can! Baby steps will get you a long way down the road on your health journey! If it doesn't go as planned, just pick up and start again. We don't head home and start over if we miss a turn on a 100 mile journey! We just get back on the right road and keep going! Together we can do it!!!

Kristen,, please do not over it. Yes we want to do what we can,,, but when we do so at a steady pace,,, we maintain the energy,, the excitement.

For the first week, it's recommend we working on the LTGL (Living The Good Life) which is this week, drinking water. I am not sure if your water drinker? If so, how many glasses a day do you drink water? If you are not a water drinker (it took me MANY challenges to become one) what do you prefer and how many glasses (Cans etc)?

Start off with exercise at a pace which you are comfy at. When we SUDDENLY pick up by a LOT ,, that's just asking for trouble. Many of us exercise through the day. For instance right now I am in a cast,, though I am (FINALLY) allowed to walk "all you can" I stick to 20 to 30 mins 3 or 4 times a day. Spreading out our exercise helps our metabolism running at an even pace for the day thus burning evenly through the day instead of a big burst than slowing down for the rest of the day. I suggest for all to try this if they have the tie to do so. Some can't and have to get it in at one time,, or not at all. Just do what you can.
