Walking Around Lake Hefner
Monday, July 25, 2016
Since moving to Oklahoma City, OKLA in 2009 I have viewed Lake Hefner as a challenge.
A challenge because I wanted to walk around the entire lake at one time but back then I knew it wasn’t possible. I weighed 287 pounds when arriving in OKC back then. (Starting weight was 350 lbs.) Walking more than a few feet was hard at the time. I had so many health issues going on, a walk around that lake was an insurmountable feat for me at the time.
Since 2009, after suffering a Mini Stroke that FINALLY helped to get my head screwed on right where it came to nutrition and what I was doing to my body, I have worked so hard to get my health under control and I am happy to say, I’m feeling great now. So great that I was finally able to accomplish the once dream of walking around the entirety of Lake Hefner at one time.
Lake Hefner is 9.8 miles and I LOVE the fact I can now say I Accomplished what I set out to do.
Goal Achieved July 23rd 2016, (my son walked it with me) not only did I walk that 9.8 mile walk but by the end of the day, according to my Fitbit, I had walked a total of 15 miles!
I have lost 170 pounds to date and now I finally feel like I am living.
I DID IT!!! I REALLY did it!!!!!
I am feeling so accomplished and know nothing will stand in my way of losing and keeping off this last 30 pounds I need to lose.
I got this!
