flea flea fi fo fum humdrum.

Wednesday, July 27, 2016

So, I got up early today, and took my dog to the vet. After the flea situation I have been dealing with the last few weeks, she started scooting on the carpet, something she never does.

We have done everything under the blue sky to fight these things. This weekend we are going to try deep steam cleaning.
First thing I did this morning when I got up was check her over really well, and I didnt see any fleas on her.
Did find a few jumping around still in the carpet in the living room, so we are still fighting them. I am still keeping her in the utility hallway where there is no carpet for the next few days just to keep a check on her.
I decided to take her to the vet not only to try to get some help with the fleas, but her skin is really pink on her belly and chest.
She hasnt hardly taken two sips of water since yesterday morning and hasnt eaten.

The vet said a tapeworm is possible due to the fleas, but its hard to test for them, so he did do a fecal test and ruled out any other kind of parasite.
He gave her a shot of amoxicillin to start fighting any kind of infection that might be causing the redness, he says its probably an allergic reation to the flea meds.
But she isnt scratching or digging.
He also gave her worm pills to take just in case.
He extracted her glands and said that might have been part of the problem.
So, we are back home. Tired, and broke.
I really wanted to walk.
I decided to just give my foot a break today.
I have been fighting sharp shooting pains in the back of my left ankle all week. I changed the orthotics out of my shoes and put in some new gel inserts.
It has been a tiring day and I still have laundry to fold.

Yikes! When it rains, it pours. Hopefully, your doggy and your foot feel better soon. I do feel your foot and ankle pain, and I know how annoying it is. Along with rest and ice, a change in orthotics should help. Good luck!
