July 31, 2016 THE LORD'S WORK

In our jobs we all have specific tasks to do. Although we may think these tasks are small, they are not. All work done on the job is important to the company. If we omit any details, there could be problems later down the road. We should never believe what we do at our companies is not important. Same with God. The work He has assigned us to do is very important. The little details and small jobs do matter. God wants us to do His work with a clear mind. Our work for Him is telling others about Him and what He has done for us.

2 Timothy 2:4-5 "But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you." (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for Your wisdom, Your mercy and Your grace. Help us to remember we are here to do Your work. Help us to keep a clear mind in every situation and stay focused on You. Remind us we may have to suffer for doing Your work but that suffering is only temporary. We know the rewards waiting on us in Heaven are far greater than any rewards we can gain on earth. Remind us to take advantage of opportunities to share Your word with others every day. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Our work here is to share God's word and how He loves us and wants us to better know Him.

Despite how big or small our work is for God, it is all important.

We shouldn't compare what others do for God to what we do. We each have different tasks to serve Him.

The little details matter especially when we are working for the Lord. Let's be sure to obey Him even in the little things.

When we aren't sure how God wants us to do our work for Him, we need to just step out and do something small.

Zechariah 4:10a "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin" (NLT)

Focus: Our work on this earth is to obey God, worship Him and tell others about Him.
