Day 56 of 70 - Week 8 over and 80% of challenge completed

At midnight tonight, I will have completed 80% of the Summer Biggest Loser Challenge (BLC). Week 8 has been practically a 'vacation' week for me, with just a few things to do in my freelancing.
The weather has been too hot to move quickly outdoors. That's really a shame, because I love to get my exercise outside while doing something useful. But I really don't do well at all with the heat, so I've been spending more time inside, not being as active since there is no air conditioning either! But it is still cooler inside, rather than out in the hot sun.
My biggest nutrition challenge for Week 8 has been a return of the Carb Cravings. I had been doing pretty well, but I gave in to sorbet and frozen yogurt a few times, and some bread...and that got me back to wanting more. I really must be strict because I know how easily I can go overboard with carbs.
I was reading about carbohydrate sensitivity (I'm never sure if these things are really a thing or if they're just fads, but ...), and one site described pretty much to a T how my body deals with carbs. Basically, I have to never go over 50% of my calories from carbs if I want to lose weight. I know that pre-BLC me was pretty consistently over that, around 55-60% of my diet being carbs. While I don't think I'll be able to manage the 40% carbs that the site recommended, I will try to keep those carbs in the 45-49% range. The weigh-in and measurement reports confirm that for the same calorie deficit, I lose more weight with the carbs are lower. I have to admit that I am pretty sad about that, since it will probably be a life-long restriction. Bye-bye to pasta, pita and naan bread, bagels, buns and baguette....
Another of my Week 8 challenges has been getting good sleep. I have really had a hard time with that, and the heat has not helped. I find myself awake at 2am, 4am...tossing and turning. Waking up stiff and sore, and not at all well rested. This must change!
