no walk for you shoe

Thursday, August 18, 2016

The saga continues.
The search for shoes is back on!
They were pretty on the webpage. The reviews were mostly good. They looked good in the box.
They even looked decent when I put them on.
But, that was not a happy moment.
I had a feeling before I ever tried them on that they were going to be way too small.
And they were.
They werent WAY small, but just slightly too tight.
I didnt have as much room in the toe box as I had hoped being that they were a size 9.
They were also hard to get the heel of my foot into this shoe, and I had to use the shoe horn to make sure the backs didnt get smashed.
I felt the sides of my feet pressing out against the shoe and I just knew there was no way a custom orthotic was going to fit.
Wide is the way to go.
Some people refuse to buy a wide and they will buy a half size bigger because they dont want to admit they have a bigger foot, but a wide is not that much bigger than a regular shoe.
I would gladly buy wide if any website ever had them.
I should have known to order a wide shoe in this brand.
Been there, learned my lesson.
Luckily zappos will take them back for a full refund, free shipping.
I dont think I am going to order anymore from there for now.
Dont get me wrong, Zappos is a good site and they offer free shipping and free return shipping.
But I just havent had any luck finding the size/width combo in the right shoe.
So, here I am right back at the old drawing board.
Yesterday I walked just over 4 miles in my old asics.
I am beginning to wonder if the shoe repair place has sold my pair.
Tomorrow will be a week they have had them to fix a small hole in the toe box.
Guess I will stop by there tomorrow and see.

New Balance has wides- I know because a wear a 9 W. Believe it or not, I can get 9W at Walmart, and although they don't last as long, they don't cost as much either emoticon
    Happy Hunting!

Finding a wide width in sneakers is tough. When the toe box doesn't have enough room, that spell BLISTERS, and that's no fun. Take care!!!

I have a wide foot. My solution has been men's sneakers... men's shoes are generally broader. No, I can find a pretty purple or pink shoe but I got electric blue last time and I love them. Good luck!
