Better news about my knee injury.

Friday, August 26, 2016

I actually injured the MCL -- Medial Collateral Ligament. Much less complicated than an ACL tear would've been.

Still on Prednisone and anti-inflammatory meds. Don't need other pains meds. I'm wearing a compression sleeve and a knee brace.

I've rested all week. Not gone outside or done any walking (except when necessary). I CAN go to the pool this weekend but no "real" swimming. Just... floating with a noodle and enjoying the water.

***NOTICE***

I read an amazing blog today:

After I read it -- I nominated her as a Spark People Motivator. I believe you will, too. She is... emoticon

I am still on a TWO MONTH plateau -- but I know that won't last much longer. It seems to happen to me every single time! Takes my body a while to adjust to changes.

I have a bit of advice that was once shared with me and I want to share it with you:

""Never grow a WISHBONE where your BACKBONE ought to be!"
~ Unknown ~

Happy Husband is turning *51* tomorrow emoticon and my youngest will be *24* on Saturday! emoticon Luckily, the party we have planned isn't until Sept. 4th.

I wish you all a safe, happy, and blessed weekend! emoticon

Knee injuries are the pits. I hope your healing is rapid! I hope your doctor gives the okay to low impact exercise in the pool while you heal.

You have such a good attitude about things. I know any injury is tough and being restricted to movement when it's obvious that you are an active person can be frustrating. But you choose to be pragmatic about the whole thing. That's why it's important to not add a self imposed stress to the situation. emoticon Well done! HB to your fellas! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Happy Birthday to your hubby and your youngest!

OUCH on the MCL tear. Even though it's less than the ACL, it's still a pain - literally.
I hope it gets better soon.

Yay for the pool even though you can only float. Keep your spirits up.

I like the advice you were given.

Glad it is not as bad as it could have been. Listen to the doctor and do as the doctor says. I had total bi-lateral knee replacement done almost 2 years ago.

Hope your knees heals quickly. And I have been on the same plateau for the last 3 years, I don't gain but I don't lose either. Bummers.
